Nahouri/Raising of the Colors: The PDS Calls for Translating Patriotism into Daily Civic Action

Nahouri: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Zecco municipality, Etienne Sanglan, presided over the monthly raising of the national flag on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He stated that patriotism must be expressed through civic responsibility and social cohesion in daily life. The constituted bodies of the commune of Zecco, a town located about forty kilometers east of P´, held the traditional raising of the national flag on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The Zecco Departmental Water and Forestry Service hosted the rotating ceremony.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the national anthem was sung in the Nikanre language to honor the national symbol, followed by a message from the President of the Special Delegation of the Commune. Etienne Sanglan, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Zecco, emphasized that the raising of the flag, accompanied by the national anthem sung in the Nikanre language, demonstrates a desire to anchor the symbols of the State in the local cultural identity, thus strengthening the appropriation of the patriotic message by all.

He highlighted the significance of choosing the Water and Forestry Service for the ceremony, noting that it underscores the importance of protecting natural resources in the development process. 'We must translate patriotism, civic-mindedness, and social cohesion into concrete actions, both in our professional commitments and in our daily personal lives,' stated the PDS.

The municipal authority also commended the commitment of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and called upon the population for open cooperation. Etienne Sanglan urged the sons and daughters of Zecco to demonstrate exemplary fiscal responsibility during this month of March, a cornerstone of community development.
