Ouagadougou: The 226 new high school graduates from Namentenga province departed Boulsa on Monday, July 27, 2026, to participate in the second edition of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion (IPO) in Kaya, Sandbondtenga province. This initiative aims to enhance civic duty, patriotism, and national cohesion among the youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training of Namentenga, Sibiri Abdoulaye Yarbanga, oversaw the departure, acknowledging the contributions of various stakeholders in organizing the journey. He expressed appreciation for the collective effort that facilitated the graduates' participation in the IPO in Kaya.

The conscripts demonstrated discipline as they responded to the roll call before boarding the bus designated for their transport. Mr. Yarbanga mentioned that the graduates would be divided among four reception sites in Kaya, joining peers from Sandbondtenga province. The move to Kaya was necessary due to inadequate infrastructure in Namentenga to host the program.

Gratitude was extended to the High Commissioner of the province, security forces, supervisors, and the transport company Id Na Boons Wend (STIW) for providing transportation. Upon reaching Zorgho, SOTRACO would transport the graduates to Kaya for the remainder of their journey.

As they departed, the graduates exhibited a mix of apprehension and enthusiasm for the new experience. Representing the High Commissioner, Mr. Yarbanga wished them an enriching stay and a transformative patriotic immersion that would instill civic values.
