Ouagadougou: The daughters and sons of the Sirba region convened in Ouagadougou on Saturday for a meeting focused on bolstering their bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and social cohesion. The meeting aimed to engage in collective reflection on their contributions to the development of Sirba, especially within a context of resilience.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was initiated by Mohamed Panguema Sogli. Following the establishment of the provinces of Gnagna and Komondjari as a region, Sogli emphasized the importance of uniting the nationals to speak with one voice and contemplate the foundations for the future development of their region, Sirba.
"If I initiated this meeting, it is to express my most ardent wish: to see us, the sons and daughters of the provinces of Gnagna and Komondjari, finally overcome our differences, our grudges, and our sterile rivalries," Sogli declared.
Sogli highlighted that the time for divisions has passed, advocating instead for unity for the greater good of their region, which faces significant security and humanitarian challenges.
"It is time we had the intelligence to listen to each other and the wisdom to rise above our egos. Because at the end of the road, there is a region to build, a region to reconcile, a community to bring into being and to shine," he declared.
Mohamed Panguema Sogli also encouraged his peers to set aside sabotage, intrigue, and misplaced jealousies, asserting that "those who love the Sirba region no longer have the right to be involved in destructive calculations."
Participants expressed their joy at the creation of the Sirba region, which encompasses the provinces of Gnagna and Komondjari, and voiced their support for Sogli's initiative and vision.
J©r´me Tindano, a native of Sirba, praised the government's decision to establish the two provinces as regions. He emphasized the responsibility of the region's nationals to unite and ensure that this government decision results in tangible actions, aspiring to transform the Sirba region into an enviable El Dorado.
