Ouagadougou: The first ordinary session of the Nayala Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) for 2026 was held Tuesday in Toma, in the meeting room of the High Commission, under the chairmanship of Comrade Honor Frdric Par, High Commissioner of the province. The session focused on examining the main challenges related to agriculture, health, community governance, and the interventions of technical and financial partners.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Comrade Honor Frdric Par praised the strong mobilization of CCP members, stressing that this body provides a privileged framework for dialogue, consultation, and coordination among provincial development actors. He recalled that Nayala continues to face major challenges in the areas of security, social cohesion, access to basic social services, the environment, education, and economic and social development. He called for a synergy of actions between the public administration, local authorities, civil society organizations, the private sector, technical and financial partners, and community leaders.
The participants adopted the session's agenda before attending several technical presentations. The provincial director in charge of agriculture, Comrade Zonou Aristide, presented the results of the 2025-2026 wet season agricultural campaign and the ongoing initiatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources. He highlighted cereal production, hydro-agricultural development projects, land reclamation operations, and the objectives of the 2026-2027 campaign.
Comrade Compaor Marietou, representing the chief medical officer of the Toma health district, presented the results of the 2025 Expanded Program on Immunization. Despite results in several areas, it noted shortcomings related in particular to the security context, logistical difficulties, and the low early attendance of certain populations at health facilities.
Comrade Adama Diallo, Secretary General of the province, then presented the main innovations of Law No. 011-2025/ALT of July 17, 2025, on freedom of association in Burkina Faso, emphasizing the new obligations of declaration, monitoring, and transparency of associative structures.
Finally, the NGO Terre des Hommes (TDH) presented its interventions in the province, particularly in the areas of health, nutrition, water, hygiene, and sanitation, with actions to rehabilitate health centers, provide medicines, and support vulnerable communities.
The discussions enabled participants to formulate recommendations concerning the management of hydraulic structures, the improvement of health indicators, the strengthening of agricultural infrastructure, and the coordination of community interventions. The High Commissioner said he was convinced that the recommendations from this session would help strengthen local governance, improve coordination of interventions by technical services and partners, and accelerate development actions for the benefit of the people of Nayala.
