Abuja: The governor of the Nazinon region, Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma, officially launched the 2026 Mandatory Patriotic Immersion (IPO) in Manga, urging 2,200 high school graduates from the region to embrace the message of Burkina Faso's President, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, as a guiding principle to better serve and build the nation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional launch ceremony took place at the Manga Regional Vocational High School, attended by administrative, military, paramilitary, customary, and religious authorities, as well as key regional figures. The governor encouraged recruits to adhere to the President's message throughout their social, academic, and professional paths while maintaining discipline and following their supervisors' instructions for the program's smooth execution.

The governor also urged the regional unit responsible for organizing the IPO and all involved stakeholders to ensure the success of this edition. Regional director Dj©n¨ba Ou©draogo presented enrollment figures, indicating that 2,200 high school graduates, including 1,247 girls, are partaking in the immersion program. The 2026 edition is unique, offering at least one immersion site in each of the region's provinces, with Zoundw©ogo province housing two sites in Manga.

Ms. Ou©draogo expressed hopes that the training would instill a patriotic, civic, and citizenship spirit in the conscripts. Representing the conscripts, Kiswendsida Kouraogo praised the initiative as "a true school of citizenship" that complements classroom lessons, fostering solidarity and love for the homeland.

The ceremony included tree planting as a commitment to environmental protection. The Patriotic Immersion program, established by the President of Burkina Faso, aims to instill civic, patriotic, and citizenship values in new graduates, with completion being a prerequisite for public university admission in Burkina Faso.
