Ouagadougou:Kourw©ogo The Islamic Benevolence and Social Service Association (ABISS) has handed over the keys to new health infrastructure to the village of Round©, located in the commune of Niou. The ceremony took place on Sunday, September 26, 2026, attended by various administrative, religious, and community leaders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the newly constructed facility comprises a dispensary with six hospital rooms, a pharmaceutical depot, a consultation room, and a waiting room. Additionally, it includes a maternity ward with a waiting room, a delivery room, and three observation rooms. The complex is equipped with indoor and outdoor showers, a well, and accommodation, all furnished with the necessary equipment for operation.
The pharmaceutical depot has been stocked with products valued at one million CFA francs, with the entire project costing an estimated 75 million CFA francs. ABISS President Abderrahmane Guelb©ogo noted that this development followed requests from the local administration and community, aiming to improve healthcare access for the population. This is the fifth health center established by ABISS in the commune of Niou.
Guelb©ogo encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the facilities responsibly and assured continued support from his association towards initiatives benefiting the community's well-being. The High Commissioner of Kourw©ogo province, Mahamadi Congo, delivered remarks on behalf of the Minister of Health, commending the project as a significant stride towards better healthcare access.
Congo stressed the importance of maintaining the infrastructure, calling it both an opportunity and a collective responsibility. Salamata Maga, President of the special delegation of Niou, echoed this sentiment, thanking ABISS and the Minister of Health for their efforts to make health services more accessible.
Chief Medical Officer of the Bouss© health district, Salou Adeline Dabir©, described the new facility as a valuable addition to the health system, expected to enhance patient care by providing closer and more immediate access to medical services.
