Ouagadougou: The Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training of Ziro organized the second edition of the Academic and Professional Information and Guidance Days from July 10 to 11, 2025. The event was aimed at new high school graduates, providing them with essential guidance to navigate their academic and professional futures effectively.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the patronage of the High Commissioner of Ziro Province, Saba Zorom©, represented by Secretary General Adams Davou. It was chaired by Dramane Ilboudo, the Provincial Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training of Ziro, with coordination provided by Pegdwend© Odile Zoungrana, head of the SIOSPB service of Ziro. The gathering took place in the large conference room of Sapouy town hall and was sponsored by Camille Diasso, head of the Sapouy Basic Education District, and co-sponsor Caroline Kabor©, CEO of Maquis One Game in Sapouy.
The primary goal of the event was to equip new high school graduates with the necessary information to make informed choices regarding their higher education. The program featured comprehensive details on universities, institutes, and the courses available in Burkina Faso, along with insights into career opportunities, university living conditions, scholarships (both national and international), and training modules on the Campus Faso platform. Additionally, participants received guidance on entrepreneurship and techniques for internship and job searches.
For many attendees, the event addressed a crucial information gap and bolstered their confidence as they prepare for university. Arnaud Ou©draogo, a high school graduate, expressed, "I now feel able to choose a course that matches my ambitions and the realities of the job market."
An innovative inclusion in this edition was a session on patriotic immersion, an initiative by the authorities to instill values of civic duty and national pride among the youth. Jessica Gouba, another high school graduate, remarked, "It's a great way to learn more about our country and strengthen our civic engagement."
The event concluded with a sense of satisfaction from both the beneficiaries and organizers, fostering hope for a youth that is better oriented, informed, and resolutely committed to the nation's development.
