Abuja: A new police station inaugurated in the 7th district of Bobo-Dioulasso: The General Directorate of the National Police officially inaugurated the new police station for the 7th district of Bobo-Dioulasso this Tuesday. This infrastructure aims to strengthen urban security and bring police services closer to the population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of the ceremony, Director General of the National Police, Inspector General of Police Thierry Dofizouho Tuina, welcomed the commissioning of this infrastructure, which he described as important for strengthening security in the city. "It is truly with honor and pride that we witness the opening of this police station, which will strengthen the urban security system. This district police station will actively participate in the fight against all forms of urban crime and will provide answers to the security concerns of the population," he said.
Emphasizing the importance of this territorial deployment, the Director General commended the authorities' commitment to the project. "My feeling is one of gratitude towards the State, the government, and my colleague, the Minister of Security, who has strongly supported this project. All of this contributes to the implementation of the community policing we aim to provide, ensuring that security is present everywhere and that people can go about their business peacefully," he stated.
Addressing the police officers assigned to this station, the Inspector General of Police urged them to be attentive to the public, available, and exemplary in the performance of their duties. "I would like to call upon the police commissioner of District No. 7 and all his staff to be welcoming officers, attentive to the public, and always ready to assist them. They must work with professionalism and integrity. We are Burkinab¨, and this integrity is part of our DNA. It is only through this that the public will have confidence in their police," he stated.
He also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement. "The police station in district number 7 is your common home. The police officers are there for you. We ask you to cooperate with them, because security is a shared responsibility. We must build it together," he insisted.
Police Commissioner Issa Sirima, for his part, expressed his gratitude to his superiors for the trust placed in him. He pledged to work with his team to provide a local service that meets the needs of the community.
The Director General of the National Police urged officers to demonstrate integrity and professionalism by rejecting all forms of extortion and any behavior that could tarnish the institution's image.
