Mouhoun: On the occasion of the New Year 2026, the population of the commune of Kona, accompanied by the dozos, visited the residence of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Ali Sanou, to present their New Year's greetings.
According to Burkina Information Agency, it is a tradition for the people of Kona to extend their wishes and greetings to the local authorities every New Year. This year, the delegations conveyed their messages of appreciation to the municipal leaders, including the President of the Special Delegation, Ali Sanou, and the 1st Vice-President of the municipality, Zama Traore.
The people offered wishes for peace, health, cohesion, and prosperity to the municipal authorities, while also extending blessings for a year characterized by commitment, promotion, and solidarity. The municipal authorities expressed satisfaction with this gesture and reciprocated by offering advice to ensure the festivities proceeded smoothly.
One of the key recommendations made by the authorities was a call for caution, especially concerning the traditional use of firearms by the dozos. The PDS reiterated the formal ban on using rifles for recreational purposes during the holidays, aligning with the existing regulations.
Ali Sanou expressed gratitude to all participants for their presence and shared his wishes for health, prosperity, longevity, success, and, above all, peace for Burkina Faso. In response, the dozo thanked the municipal authority for the timely reminder and pledged their adherence to the instructions, reaffirming their readiness to uphold the values and colors of the Nation.
