Ouagadougou: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Niangoloko, Oussni Oudraogo, called on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, on the occasion of the monthly flag-raising ceremony, the populations and municipal agents to resolutely put themselves at the service of the people, believing that this commitment constitutes an essential lever to consolidate national sovereignty and promote sustainable development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, held at the Niangoloko town hall, took place in a sober manner to the rhythm of the Ditany¨, the national anthem of Burkina Faso, in the presence of administrative authorities, municipal agents and several residents.

In his speech, the PDS revisited the historical events of August 4, 1983, recalling that they led to the change of the name and motto of Burkina Faso.

He also praised the achievements of the Democratic and Popular Revolution, which, according to him, have led to significant progress in social, cultural, educational and political spheres.

Addressing the city hall staff, Mr. Oudraogo congratulated them on their performance during the first seven months of 2026. He urged them to further improve the reception of users and to place the general interest at the heart of their public service mission.

The PDS also invited all the people of the commune to commit themselves to the service of the people and the homeland, stressing that the participation of all is essential to affirm and fully assume national sovereignty.
