Nigo:Education stakeholders in the Basic Education District of Nigo held their annual administrative back-to-school general assembly on September 16, 2026, to review the past school year's outcomes and discuss upcoming reforms and innovations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting took place in the Nigo town hall meeting room and was led by the head of the basic education district, Yaonkir¨ Som. The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Ioba, Tibouo-Ion Romaric Som, was also present.

Discussions centered on the achievements of the 2025-2026 school year, challenges encountered, and strategies to enhance education quality. The CCEB of Nigo praised the teaching staff for their success in the 2026 Primary School Certificate exams and introduced several reforms for the new academic year.

Planned innovations include the expansion of bilingual and multilingual education from CP1, the establishment of a literacy center for teachers to better transcribe local languages such as Dagara, Dioula, and Moor, and the introduction of English from the CE1 class.

Tibouo-Ion Romaric Som, representing the DPEPPNF of Ioba, commended the educators and awarded commendation letters to those from schools with a 100% pass rate on the CEP. He highlighted the significance of non-formal education in fostering development opportunities for learners.

Teacher career management and a mutual insurance scheme were also discussed. The provincial director reiterated the essential qualities of a good teacher, including rigor, integrity, and professional dedication. Participants actively engaged in discussions about professional life and prospects for basic education in the district.
