Ganzourgou: The High Commissioner of Ganzourgou Province, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, officially launched the "Revolutionary Youth on the March" (JeRM) initiative Thursday evening in Zorgho. During the event, she stated that no revolution can succeed without its youth, calling on young people to become aware of the issues, to be disciplined, and to commit to the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held in the public Independence Square, in the presence of the Minister-Advisor to the President of Faso in charge of good governance issues, Ragnang-newende Isidore Tiemtore, provincial directors and heads of services, customary and religious authorities, as well as civil society organizations.
In her speech, Ms. Sorgho/Gouba recalled that the initiative is in the context of the commemoration of the 1st year of the proclamation of the Popular Progressive Revolution by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. She emphasized that the approach aims "to build a strong, sovereign Burkina Faso resolutely committed to endogenous development, based on active and conscious citizen participation."
The High Commissioner indicated that the JeRM initiative, led by the Ministry of Youth, is part of this dynamic and is intended to be "a crucible of civic, political, and patriotic training" and "a call for the total commitment" of young people. Addressing young people, she said: "No revolution can triumph without its youth and no nation can rise sustainably without a conscious, disciplined and committed youth."
Ms. Sorgho/Gouba then outlined the initiative's objectives: to popularize the ideals of the revolution, strengthen civic awareness, mobilize young people around development projects, celebrate national heroes, and reinforce social cohesion. To achieve these objectives, several activities are planned, including public conferences, educational talks, days of tribute, and civic engagement.
The High Commissioner invited young people to embrace the initiative by actively participating in the various activities and embodying, on a daily basis, the values of responsibility, integrity, and solidarity. She also paid tribute to the forces involved in the defense of the territory as well as all those involved in citizen oversight.
Speaking at the event, the Special Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso, Ragnang-newende Isidore Tiemtore, conveyed the Head of State's message to the youth. "The President's message is to tell the youth of Burkina Faso, and in particular those of Ganzourgou, that the time has come to get involved, to be patriotic, and to take their destiny into their own hands," he stated.
He stressed the responsibility of young people in the current context: "The destiny of this country is in their hands." The minister also stressed the importance of upholding the values of order and discipline. "Without order and discipline, nothing can function," he asserted. According to him, these principles "must resonate with everyone."
He finally called for a collective commitment. "I ask everyone to commit themselves without fear and without fail, because as comrade Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso, said, no one will come to build our country in our place," Ragnang-newende Isidore Tiemtore stated.
'It is together, in unity and determination, that we will succeed in meeting the challenges.' concluded Ms. Sorgho/Gouba, before officially launching the initiative in Ganzourgou. The ceremony included a fun run and an aerobics session, which saw strong participation from young people.
