Zoundw©ogo: The Nob©r© police station, operational since 1984, officially transferred its keys to the territorial gendarmerie on Tuesday. This act marks a reorganization of territorial responsibilities between the police and the gendarmerie.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony formalized the transfer of territorial authority following decree no. 2024-1102 of November 24, 2024. The event commenced with a flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by speeches recognizing the significant shift in security management for the municipality.

The outgoing District Police Commissioner, Serge Arnaud Tassemb©do, expressed satisfaction and commended his team for their dedication. He highlighted the crucial partnership among the community, local government, and security forces, essential for successful citizen protection missions.

Moussa Gansor©, Commander of the Nob©r© Territorial Brigade, acknowledged the efforts by the police and emphasized the necessity of public support to meet the security objectives of the national gendarmerie.

Pierre Kafando, President of the Special Delegation of Nob©r©, remarked on the commitment and professionalism of the police, which has strengthened community trust. He encouraged residents to foster a strong collaboration with the new gendarmerie force.

Parfait Kadeba, Provincial Director of the National Police of Zoundw©ogo, thanked the local population for their support of the CPD staff. He expressed hope that the community's solidarity would now extend to benefit the gendarmerie.

The Nob©r© community attended the ceremony in large numbers. Concerns were raised about the continuity of administrative services, such as national identity card issuance and document legalization. Authorities assured the public that these services would continue, as Gendarmerie personnel had been trained by the National Police for these administrative duties.

The authority transfer was completed with the handing over of keys, signing of minutes, and a guided tour of the facilities.
