North Regional Delegation Approves Revised 2026 Budget Totaling 1,297,705,873 FCFA

Ouagadougou: The members of the special regional delegation of the North convened for their first ordinary session of the year 2026, examining and adopting several key resolutions. This included the approval of an amended budget for the year, which balances revenues and expenditures for both operations and investments at 1,297,705,873 FCFA.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was led by Thomas Yampa, the chairman of the body responsible for regional development, with the majority of statutory members present. In his opening address, President Yampa reflected on the year 2025, highlighting both challenges and advancements in regional development efforts. He noted that socio-economic infrastructure had been developed, access to basic social services had improved, and that significant projects were underway with technical and financial partners.

During the session, members carefully reviewed a dozen agenda items before reaching unanimous agreement on them. The revised budget for 2026 is balanced at 149,134,046 FCFA for both operating revenues and expenditures. For investments, it stands at 1,148,571,827 FCFA. The total amended budget of 1,297,705,873 FCFA, adopted by all members present, aims to facilitate informed and public interest-oriented decision-making.

Concluding the session, the president expressed gratitude to all individuals involved in the development and protection of the regional territory, emphasizing the importance of consolidating and strengthening achievements to meet the expectations of the populace.
