Ouagadougou: As part of the fight against insecurity, in line with Operation Wibga, and the fight against illicit trafficking in violation of the regulations in force, the provincial directorate of the national police (DPPN) of Noumbiel presented, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, during a press conference, the products seized during the week, namely 2 tricycles loaded with 20 bags of shea kernels, 1 tricycle transporting 480 frozen chicken carcasses and 2 tricycles transporting 385 trays of eggs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, despite numerous awareness campaigns and crackdowns on illicit trafficking, the phenomenon persists in certain areas. This undoubtedly poses a threat to security, public health, and the national economy. In Bati, by intensifying control operations through vehicle searches, patrols on major roads and surveillance of sensitive areas, the national police services have recorded significant results.

During field operations, units seized several products from neighboring countries, in flagrant violation of applicable regulations. Furthermore, it should be noted that previous seizures were also carried out as part of the various missions. These include, among other things, 35 bags containing 11,550 explosives commonly known as "farawi", 2 trucks carrying 200 bags of shea kernels, and 24 drums of cyanide.

For the central police commissioner (CCP) of Bati, Lawata Jules Olivier, these results reflect the professionalism of the men on the ground and good collaboration from the population. "This is an opportunity for us to commend this cooperation once again. I urge traders to strictly adhere to the regulations in force, and the public to adopt responsible behavior without delay by reporting without hesitation anyone who fraudulently imports products into the country," he added.
