OIC Delegation on Mission to Burkina Faso to Strengthen Cooperation

Ouagadougou: A delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), led by Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian, Social and Cultural Affairs, arrived in Ouagadougou on Tuesday for an official mission aimed at strengthening solidarity and developing new projects in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation was welcomed at Ouagadougou International Airport by the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the OIC, Boukary Savadogo. The delegation's arrival was marked by tributes from several personalities of the Muslim community, including El Hadj Moussa Koanda, president of the Muslim Community of Burkina Faso, and Dr Cheikh Aboubacar Doukour©, spiritual guide of the Ittihad Islami and founder of the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina (FAIB).

Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet's mission runs from 13 to 17 August 2025. The mission aims to assess humanitarian needs, particularly those of internally displaced persons, and lay the foundations for projects in the areas of education, health, economic empowerment, and social cohesion.
