Ouagadougou: The Nayala Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training launched the 8th edition of the Post-Exam Information and Guidance Days (JIO-PES) on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in Toma. This initiative aims to support new graduates in choosing their academic, university, and professional paths.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event gathered new graduates, administrative authorities, education stakeholders, high school graduates, and partners in the multipurpose hall in Toma to participate in the opening of the post-exam information and guidance days. The provincial director of secondary education and vocational and technical training in Nayala, Idriss Roko, congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and performance, despite a context marked by numerous challenges.
Idriss Roko announced that 1,257 candidates obtained their diploma at the end of the 2026 session, including 394 who passed the baccalaureate, with a success rate of 67.01%. This achievement allowed Nayala to retain, for the second consecutive year, the first place in the Bankuy-Sourou region in this exam. He paid tribute to teachers, school principals, parents, partners, and administrative authorities for their commitment to academic success.
Roko encouraged the new graduates to take full advantage of discussions with career advisors, universities, and training institutes to make choices that align with their ambitions and the needs of the job market. Chiecka Ki, a banking executive and sponsor of this year's event, urged the graduates to seize this opportunity to better prepare for their future, emphasizing that thoughtful career guidance is essential for successful professional integration. He invited future students to fully engage in patriotic immersion, describing it as an important step in forming citizens committed to nation-building.
Presiding over the ceremony, the High Commissioner of the province of Nayala, Honor Frdric Par, congratulated the new graduates and all those involved in the education system for the results achieved. He paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell for the Nation, urging participants to take full advantage of this platform to build a promising professional future. These days are designed to enable new graduates to make informed choices and better prepare for their integration into higher education and the workforce.
