Ouagadougou: The second edition of "Faso Digital" 2026 is scheduled to take place from October 17 to 24 in Ouagadougou. The virtual fair, dedicated to digital solutions, will primarily occur online, with its opening and closing ceremonies slated for the Sopatel Silmand hotel. This announcement was made by the organizing committee during a press conference on Thursday.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event is themed "Inclusion, sovereignty, innovation, towards a digital Burkina for all" and aims to showcase Burkinabe digital solutions while facilitating interactions among innovators, companies, administrations, investors, and partners. Dr. Cyriaque Par, chairman of the organizing committee, highlighted that Faso Digital 2026 will feature interactive virtual booths, conferences, master classes, thematic panels, and B2B meetings to foster collaboration and business opportunities.
The inaugural edition of Faso Digital was held from October 18 to 25, 2025, in conjunction with the 23rd anniversary of the online media platform Le Faso.net. This year's event will also honor Rwanda as the guest country, promoting an exchange of experiences and cooperation in digital technology between Burkinabe and Rwandan participants.
Adding further interest, a national digital innovation competition is planned, with applications open from August 18 until September 30, 2026. By September 16, the committee had already received 95 applications across various fields. The organizing committee also introduced "The Hundred Faces of Digital Burkina," an initiative dedicated to recognizing individuals contributing to the national digital ecosystem's growth.
