Ouagadougou: The 2026-2027 administrative start took place in a calm atmosphere in the commune of Barsalogho, with an effective presence of teachers in several schools visited on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 by educational officials, AIB was told during a tour of the commune.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the start of the school year is indeed underway in the Barsalogho 1 Basic Education District. Jean Marie Oudraogo, head of the Barsalogho 1 Basic Education District, confirmed that during their visits, teachers were found at their posts. This sentiment was echoed in the Barsalogho 2 Basic Education Center (CEB), where Basic Education Center Coordinator (CCEB) Abdoulaye Sawadogo reported a similar situation. Sawadogo mentioned the conduct of a meeting involving principals and department heads on Wednesday.

In the schools, this trend of readiness is further confirmed by officials. At the school on site A, director Si Palm affirmed the administrative start's effectiveness, highlighting the successful holding of the teachers' council with full staff attendance. Meanwhile, at the school in sector 3, director Moussa Sawadogo observed the presence of teachers and announced the planned commencement of cleaning activities at the establishment.

Moreover, Moumini Sana, the chairman of the Sambissi A school council, visited the school to extend his encouragement and support to the teachers as the school year begins. Education stakeholders in Barsalogho shared optimism about the smooth progression of the 2026-2027 school year, attributing this to the commitment of defense and security forces and the volunteers for the defense of the homeland.
