Ioba: Residents of the Ouessa commune are being educated about tax compliance. The special municipal delegation of Ouessa conducted a tax awareness campaign in seven villages during November 2025 to encourage people to regularly fulfill their tax obligations. Accompanied by the provincial director of taxes, Joel Dinaba, and the departmental treasurer of Dissihn, Kibsa Ouedraogo, the municipal team visited the villages of Dianle, Bekoteng, Kolinka, and Ouessa.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Ismael Sanogo, president of the Ouessa municipal special delegation, stated that this initiative aims to raise taxpayers' awareness of the importance of paying their taxes regularly. He added that this civic duty plays a vital role in local governance and development. The provincial director of taxes, Joel Dinaba, reminded residents that they should not wait until arrears accumulate before paying their taxes. He indicated that tax revenues, particularly those levied on weapons, aggregates, shops, and establishments serving alcoholic beverages, enable the municipality to meet its social and economic needs. Participants welcomed the initiative, deeming it beneficial for improving municipal revenue.

As a reminder, this series of awareness-raising activities was recommended on October 24th during the adoption of the initial 2026 budget, with the aim of strengthening the mobilization of local resources. The activities continued in the villages of Kierim, Langle, and Hamele.
