Oulni:The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Oulni, Salif Sandwidi, has urged constituted bodies to embrace local consumption as an act of national sovereignty. This call was made during a flag-raising event held on October 8, 2026, as part of the second phase of the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event emphasized the promotion of local products with the slogan "All for Made in Burkina; let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty." Salif Sandwidi conveyed a message from the Head of State encouraging Burkinabe citizens to adopt local products as a daily commitment to national sovereignty, beyond the slogan "Let's produce Burkinabe, let's consume Burkinabe."
The message highlighted three major challenges the production, processing, and consumption of local goods, and it underscored the crucial role of women in these areas due to their creative and entrepreneurial potential. Sandwidi also called for combating fraud, smuggling, and false declarations, which hinder the promotion of national products.
He pointed out that the Faso mêbo initiative and restructuring processes in various sectors are crucial to overcoming present and future challenges. Sandwidi also addressed African cooperation, advocating for continental unity, and highlighted the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) as a reference.
Sandwidi extended an invitation to young people and the diaspora to contribute to promoting "Made in Burkina" and expanding African markets. He encouraged participants to embrace the initiative's content and reaffirmed the special delegation's commitment to supporting local consumption efforts at both communal and national levels.
Finally, the PDS expressed gratitude to the participants and wished success to the students who performed the victory anthem.
