Guiriko: The opening of the emergency medical, visceral and pediatric surgery departments at the Pala University Hospital is scheduled for June 23.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of the Pala University Hospital Center, Ounanlini Thiombiano, made the announcement on Thursday through a press release. The statement revealed that starting June 23, 2026, the hospital will introduce services including medical emergencies and hospitalizations for medicine and medical specialties, alongside visceral and pediatric surgery services.

Thiombiano’s statement was directed to the residents of Bobo-Dioulasso, surrounding areas, and the entire nation of Burkina Faso. The announcement specifies that, initially, the visceral and pediatric surgery departments will manage only scheduled surgical procedures.

In addition, Thiombiano emphasized that the introduction of other services will occur gradually. He also urged the hospital’s users to exercise patience and understanding as the facility expands its capabilities.
