Participation of Stallions in CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2023: a National Organizing Committee in perspective

The Minister in charge of sports Aboubakar Savadogo made an oral communication on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers relating to the establishment of a National Committee for the organization of the participation of Stallions in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) Ivory Coast 2023.

According to this oral communication “this committee will be made up of representatives of ministries and institutions, the Burkinabè Football Federation (FBF), the National Union of Stallion Supporters (UNSE), the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Burkina Faso (CNOSB) , the Association of Sports Journalists of Burkina Faso (AJSB) and resource persons”.

“The establishment of the said committee will make it possible to define all the actions with a view to creating the appropriate conditions for better preparation and participation of the Burkinabè delegation in this continental sporting event,” the statement said.

For the Minister of Sports, “this system will also provide a mechanism for the rational management of human, material and financial resources mobilized within the framework of this participation”.

The Stallions of Burkina Faso, leader of their group, have qualified since their 4th match of the CAN playoffs against Togo and are preparing for the final phase in Côte d’Ivoire. The Burkinabè team will meet the Moroccan Atlas Lions in a friendly in France on September 12th.

CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2023 is scheduled to be played from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
