Passor©: Forty-five students from the Niongnongo General Education College (CEG) took part in an educational outing on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, to the Faso Tomate Company (SOFATO), located in the village of Pougyango, about ten kilometers from Yako, in the Passor© province. The main objectives of this visit were to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application and to ignite interest in careers within the industry.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the students were accompanied by their teachers and administrative staff, under the guidance of the school's director, Z©phirin Guissou. Mr. Guissou emphasized that the outing was designed to connect classroom learning with real-world industrial experiences and to foster interest in agri-food processing careers.

Upon their arrival at SOFATO, the students were welcomed by key personnel, including production manager Losseni Dao and supply manager T©gawend© Alexandre Compaor©. The students were then guided through the factory to observe the various stages of tomato processing, from the reception of raw materials to the packaging of the final product.

For safety and logistical reasons, the students were divided into two groups to facilitate a closer observation of the industrial operations. The visit concluded with a discussion session, allowing participants to inquire about the origins of the tomatoes, relationships with local producers, and the economic and environmental impacts of the factory.

The students expressed their satisfaction with the visit and commended the school's management for organizing the initiative. They reported gaining a better understanding of the industrial sector and the opportunities it presents.
