Ouagadougou: Several learners, teachers, facilitators, administrative staff, and educational structures from the province of Passor were distinguished on Friday, July 24, 2026, during the Day of Excellence organized by the Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DREPPNF) of Yaadga. The ceremony was held under the theme: "Academic Excellence and Strengthening Resilience in the Yaadga Region: An Integrated Approach for Consolidating Educational Reforms in Favor of Quality Education."
According to Burkina Information Agency, among the learners, students Oubayda Kouda from the Centre for Early Childhood Education and Awakening (CEEP) in Yako, and Audrey Koumbem from the CEEP in Mia, were distinguished as the best preschool learners. Oumou-Har Dianda, a student from the Franco-Arab school in Kirsi, was named the best student among Franco-Arab schools with an average of 8.78/10.
The visually impaired student from the Koro school, Ass¨ta Wenddingoundi Sawadogo, in the Basic Education District (CEB) of Arboll II, was distinguished as the best student with a disability with an average of 7.31/10. In the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam, Malika Yasmine Ouadba from Yako Mixte B school ranked as the top girl in the province with an average of 9.81/10. Among the boys, Aaron Yibl Josepha Bado from Yako Mixte A school came out on top with an average of 9.39/10.
Mathieu Salou from the Evangelical Church center in sector 4 achieved the best performance in literacy with a score of 10/10. In the category of internally displaced students (IDS), Amadal Mourtada Dicko from the Ipala Silmimoss school ranked first with an average of 9.11/10.
Among the educational staff, Juste Zougmor Beneba, an educator at the CEEP in Pilimpikou, was recognized as the best preschool educator. Zakaria Ganam, Antoinette Kientega, and Habib Sawadogo each achieved a 100% success rate in their respective institutions. In total, 26 teachers from traditional schools were also recognized for achieving a 100% success rate in the CEP with at least 50 candidates presented.
In terms of structures, the CEEP of Yako was designated the best CEEP, the Yako-Girls school the best classical school, and the Yako II Basic Education District the best CEB, with a success rate of 94.63%.
The province's top student, Malika Yasmine Ouadba from Yako Mixte B school, who achieved an average of 9.81/10, received a bicycle, a school kit, and the sum of 200,000 CFA francs. Each of the winning students received a bicycle, a school kit, and a 25-kilogram bag of rice. The winning teachers each received a letter of congratulations and a 25-kilogram bag of flour.
The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) for Passor, Mahamoudou Kiogo, expressed his satisfaction with the academic and professional achievements. He extended his warmest congratulations to the various award recipients and to all education stakeholders in the province.
