Passore Youth Celebrate Completion of Civic and Patriotic Education Program

Passore: The first phase of the Civic and Patriotic Education (CPE) program for middle school students in Passore Province officially concluded at the Yako Provincial High School. The closing ceremony was attended by the Provincial Secretary General, along with a delegation of administrative, traditional, religious, military, and paramilitary authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony featured close-order drill demonstrations by learners, overseen by their instructors and the attending authorities. The program, running from January 13 to February 21, 2026, covered 11 sites across the province's 9 municipalities, engaging 11,032 students from 25 schools, including 4,543 boys and 6,489 girls. The effort was supported by 117 Defense and Security Forces personnel, 140 volunteer supervisors, and health workers.

Kader Yago, a first-year high school student and representative of the participants, expressed the value of the supervision received, highlighting its role in instilling civic duty, patriotism, discipline, and responsibility. Yago emphasized the importance of understanding the role of youth in shaping the country's future through moral and civic awareness.

Basile Bazie, representing the provincial director of secondary, vocational, and technical education in Passore, described the program as a key moment for civic education, aiming to instill civic-mindedness, discipline, respect for authority, social cohesion, and patriotism in students. Bazie urged students to embody these values in their behavior both in schools and in society.

Students like David Kientega, from Yako agricultural high school, noted the program's positive impact on their daily behavior, promoting openness and new perspectives. The Secretary General, Saidou Ouedraogo, called on parents to actively participate in their children's education, emphasizing the need for vigilance in guiding student behavior.

On behalf of the High Commissioner of the province, Ouedraogo congratulated all local bodies for their contributions to the successful completion of the program's first phase.
