Poa Triumphs Over FC Nongtaaba in United Youth Cup Final Focused on Peace

Nabadogo: The Nabadogo field in the commune of Sabou witnessed the grand final of the inaugural United Youth Cup, where the Poa team emerged victorious against FC Nongtaaba through penalties (4-1). This competition was dedicated to promoting peace and social cohesion among the youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was organized to enhance social cohesion among young people from the various villages of the commune. The final was held with the patronage of Abdoul Aziz Koara, President of the Special Delegation of Sabou, and supported by His Majesty of Nabadogo. Nando Abylaic© Rouamba, the regional director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education, chaired the event.

The occasion attracted a significant gathering of customary, religious, and administrative authorities, alongside residents of Nabadogo and several delegations from neighboring localities, creating an atmosphere of fraternity and fair play.

The tournament's promoter, Arouna Kiemtor©, stated that the initiative aimed to use sport as a unifying factor among communities. "This tournament was initiated to bring together the youth of Nabadogo and the surrounding villages, strengthen solidarity and promote peace. The mobilization of the people testifies to their commitment to living together," he expressed.

The match concluded with a penalty shootout after a tied regulation time, with Poa clinching the victory 4-1. Poa received a prize of 60,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, a ball, and the trophy. FC Nongtaaba, as the runner-up, was awarded 40,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The third and fourth-place teams each received 10,000 FCFA, underscoring the role of sport as an instrument for peace and social cohesion.
