Ouagadougou: Pouytenga is developing a map of development actors to better coordinate interventions. The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Pouytenga, Benoit Timtore, chaired the first ordinary session of the 2026 municipal consultation framework on Thursday, July 30, 2026. This meeting was dedicated to validating the provisional report on the mapping of stakeholders and interventions in the municipality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the validation meeting for the provisional report on the mapping of stakeholders and interventions in the municipality was financed by the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation (Enabel) with the aim of strengthening territorial governance through better coordination of development actions. The session brought together the statutory members of the Municipal Consultation Framework, the members of the Special Delegation, the decentralized technical services of the State, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), associations, projects, and programs operating in the municipality.
Prepared with technical support from the Regional Directorate of Economy and Planning of Nakambe (DREP-Nakambe), the provisional report was presented to the participants before being discussed in a plenary session. Presenting the document, the representative of DREP-Nakambe, Malick Konfe, explained that this mapping offers a comprehensive view of the actors involved in the municipality, their areas of activity, the areas covered, as well as the sectors requiring more investment.
"This document provides a clear overview of all the actors involved in the municipality, their areas of intervention, the villages covered, the resources mobilized, and the needs of the population," he explained. Mr. Konfe indicated that the document also makes it possible to verify whether the associations have the required receipts. For him, the State recommends that each structure intervene in a maximum of three areas in order to ensure a better distribution of development actions.
"Thanks to this mapping, we now know which villages are covered, which are not yet benefiting from development actions, who is intervening where and in what area," said the representative of DREP-Nakambe. According to him, the objectives of the operation have largely been achieved, even if the process can still be improved.
"The objectives have been met, but not 100%. The presentation of the database allowed us to see that some actors are not yet registered. Any association or structure operating in the municipality can still register with the town hall through the Koobo link," he added. Following the presentation, participants made observations, proposed amendments and provided additional information to enrich the report before its final validation.
The president of the Wend-Tongo Association and the Tel-Taaba Cooperative, Martine Sawadogo/Kabore, welcomed the initiative undertaken by the municipality. "The presentation of the results of this mapping is a very good initiative. It allows us to better understand the actions already carried out for the benefit of the municipality. We have certainly benefited from support, but the needs remain significant, particularly in terms of infrastructure," she said. The president indicated that this type of exercise truly contributes to the development of the municipality.
Welcoming the quality of the discussions, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Pouytenga, Benoit Timtore, praised the commitment of the partners and local stakeholders. "The main benefit of this mapping is to allow the municipality to better guide technical and financial partners in their interventions. This is only a first step. Other activities will be carried out to strengthen this system," added Martine Sawadogo/Kabore. She argued that once the document is validated, it will be widely disseminated to the population and all our partners so that they can take ownership of it and contribute more to the implementation of the municipality's development projects.
