Pouytenga: Three classrooms and a borehole for the Franco-Arab school Al Islamiatou

No more makeshift hangars for the Franco-Arab school Al Islamiatou located in sector No. 3 (Hamagarkin) of Pouytenga. This Sunday, the focal point of the Belgian NGO H4M, Sadat Bikienga officially handed over to his managers the keys to three equipped classrooms and a functional borehole, on the sidelines of the closing of the school year of this establishment.

Three brand new classrooms equipped with benches and desks, latrines and a drinking water borehole, this is the composition of the donation that was made to the Franco-Arab private school Al Islamiatou in the Hamagarkin district in the town of Pouytenga this June 25, 2023.

Estimated at more than ten million FCFA, this donation comes from the Belgian NGO H4M in partnership with the Association Agissons pour nos villages (AGV).

According to the executive director of the AGV, Sadat Bikienga, this donation is the fulfillment of a promise made in May 2022 by a team from H4M during a humanitarian visit to this temple of knowledge.

Formerly under makeshift sheds, the establishment has now had a facelift with the addition of a drinking water borehole, all with the aim of creating a more convenient setting for these hundreds of children in search of knowledge in French and Arabic language.

For Mr. Bikienga, investing in education is priceless. Adopting the idea that “educating a girl is educating a nation”, he was delighted to see many girls enrolled in this establishment. He thanked the parents for their awareness and congratulated the director of the school and his collaborators for the work they do on a daily basis for the education of the children. He invited them to take good care of the infrastructure so that it lasts and benefits many generations.

According to him, this is the second time that classrooms built by the partner H4M have been inaugurated in Pouytenga. The first time took place last year and concerned two classrooms built, equipped with furniture and solar energy in a public primary school.

“It’s much more than a feeling of satisfaction but a lesson in humanity that our partners in Belgium keep giving us when we really need it with this security crisis which imposes so many social challenges on us,” said Sadat Bikienga.

According to him, it is a total of one hundred million that H4M has invested in recent years in the provinces of Kouritenga, Ganzourgou and Yatenga through, among other things, the construction of drinking water boreholes, classrooms, latrines, the delivery of tonnes of food to IDPs and widows and the sponsorship of orphans.

The joy of the school director, Imam Mohamed Sana is indescribable. After twenty years spent in precarious shelters educating children, he breathes a sigh of relief today.

For him, in addition to the infrastructure, the students have benefited from the partners of school supplies and other gifts that galvanize them.

He, like the representative of the parents of students, El Hadj Souleymane Sana, thanked H4M and its focal point, Mr. Sadat Bikienga and wished that they would have more means to always accompany them. He is committed to making good use of the infrastructure for posterity.

For the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Pouytenga, Djibrila Bikienga, the NGO H4M is no longer to be presented in Pouytenga as it has taken many actions for the benefit of the populations.

As proof, he sees the drilling and construction of classrooms in several areas of the city. For him, it is a thorn that H4M removes from the foot the special delegation of Pouytenga.

He, on behalf of the president of the special delegation of the municipality of Pouytenga, thanked H4M and the AGV for all the actions they have carried out in the municipality and hoped that the partnership between the two structures will continue so that they can continue to support the development of the municipality.
