Powerlifting Champion Bady Zan Honored by Faso President.

Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, welcomed world powerlifting champion Bady Zan, also known as the Caterpillar, at the Koulouba Palace in Ouagadougou. This meeting took place on Thursday morning, as reported by the communication service of the Presidency of Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Bady Zan recently triumphed at the World Powerlifting Championships in Moscow, Russia, held from November 14 to 17. He secured two gold medals in the Hip Raise and Bench Press events, along with a silver medal in the Biceps Curl category. The audience with the President allowed the champion to showcase his medals and achievements.

During the meeting, Bady Zan shared that the President expressed his congratulations and was pleased to see a Burkinabe athlete representing the nation on an international stage. The Head of State emphasized the importance of using sports as a means to promote health and deter youth from engaging in negative activities.

Captain Traoré reaffirmed his commitment to fostering the development of sports within the country. The athlete sees his accomplishments and the recognition by the President as significant strides in promoting powerlifting, a relatively unknown sport in Burkina Faso.
