Gourma: The children of the Early Childhood Development and Preschool Education Center (CEEP) in sector 3 of Fada N'Gourma, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, took a trip to the city's fire brigade, in order to learn about the realities of the profession and the concepts of risk prevention.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Edouard Ouedraogo, director of the Early Childhood Development and Preschool Education Center (CEEP) in Sector 3 of Fada N'Gourma, stated that this initiative is part of an educational approach focused on "learning by doing," allowing children to discover various professions firsthand. He indicated that this outing aims to familiarize the children with the role of firefighters while fostering a sense of civic duty and patriotism.
During the visit, the children were able to observe the equipment used by firefighters and watch demonstrations of firefighting and rescue techniques. They were also made aware of the dangers of fires and domestic accidents. Very enthusiastic, some children didn't hide their admiration for these men in uniform. "I learned that firefighters put out fires and save lives," one student confided. Another expressed his dream of becoming a firefighter in order to "save lives and put out fires."
In a show of solidarity, the children, at the end of this outing, donated over 100,000 CFA francs and 20 packs of water to the Faso M¨bo agency. They also contributed to the community by helping to make paving stones by collecting shells. This educational and civic activity was praised by the supervisors and partners, who saw it as a fine example of the children's early commitment to the values of solidarity, civic responsibility, and patriotism.
