Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor, has called on the youth of Burkina Faso to focus on developing technical and practical skills essential for the nation's industrial advancement. Speaking at Nazi Boni University, the President emphasized the importance of self-reliance in technology and industrial sectors to reduce dependency on foreign expertise.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traor addressed students during the inauguration of new lecture halls, highlighting the critical role of technological skills in the country's future. He pointed out that even those who have pursued studies in literature and other non-technical fields should consider retraining in technical disciplines to adapt to the evolving economic landscape. "The future is in technology," he stressed, underscoring the urgent need for skilled workers in the burgeoning industrial sector.

President Traor cited the example of TEXFORCES, a state-of-the-art textile factory inaugurated on September 9, where modern machinery requires skilled operators. He questioned the need to recruit external expertise when the youth of Burkina Faso could be trained to operate and maintain such technology. His remarks reinforced the notion that the youth are pivotal to the country's economic chain, and leaders have a duty to nurture this invaluable resource.
