Koosin:School fields in the Dokuy Basic Education District (CEB) are demonstrating promising harvest prospects for crops such as beans, sesame, millet, and sorghum, attributed to the presidential initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural production in schools.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this positive development was observed on Sunday, October 25, 2026, across several schools in the district. The initiative has led to the investment in agricultural production by schools in the Dokuy Basic Education District.
At Goni "A" school, beans are currently being harvested, while in Kemèsso, Karosso-Kro, Soum, Dassi, and Gassingo, the crops are showing encouraging signs of good harvests. Jules Traore, principal of Kemèsso school, expressed appreciation for the presidential initiative and thanked the authorities for providing essential agricultural inputs and fertilizers. Traore believes that this support is crucial to crop development and enhances the potential for successful harvests.
Abdoulaye Sangare, representing the presidents of the school councils and from Gassingo, also praised the initiative. He anticipates that the expected crop production will help supply local canteens and assist in covering some school operational expenses. The educational stakeholders in the CEB of Dokuy aim to utilize school fields as a means to improve student nutrition and support school functioning through this initiative.
