Burkina faso: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo inaugurated the new headquarters of Coris Bank International SA in Ouagadougou on Friday. The high-rise building, comprising 14 stories plus a basement, totals 16 levels and was built on a 3,172 m² site in 57 months. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of government officials, heads of institutions, and several prominent figures from the economic sector.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the infrastructure, with an estimated total cost of 19.6 billion FCFA, has a capacity to accommodate approximately 700 users. It includes offices and open spaces, a training room, seven meeting rooms, an editorial committee room, a boardroom, an infirmary, and a cafeteria.
The new headquarters of Coris Bank International SA is one of the most modern buildings in Ouagadougou. Its design combines innovation, comfort, and operational efficiency with a unique curved fa§ade, reflecting a strong and bold identity.
For Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, this headquarters, with its modern and futuristic architecture, is much more than just a banking facility. It represents the concrete expression of a national ambition to build solid, efficient, and sustainable financial institutions in Burkina Faso, capable of supporting the structural transformation of the economy.
The head of government praised Coris Bank International SA's contribution to mobilizing national savings and financing productive sectors, essential pillars of the country's economic development. 'This contribution is invaluable in the new Burkina Faso that we are building with courage, discipline, and determination,' he asserted.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the conditions conducive to private sector development, modernizing the financial system, and sustainably mobilizing resources to serve the national economy. He also stated that a country's development relies on a strong alliance between the vision of the state and the boldness of its entrepreneurs.
According to the Managing Director of Coris Bank International SA, Gis¨le Gumedzoe/Ouedraogo, the inauguration of the new headquarters reflects the institution's desire to equip itself with a modern working environment capable of supporting its growth and the new dynamics of transformation in the banking sector. Ms. Gumedzoe/Ouedraogo indicated that as of December 31, 2025, Coris Bank had total assets exceeding 2,800 billion FCFA. Direct financing to the economy amounted to over 10,200 billion FCFA, and sovereign investments to over 900 billion FCFA. The branch network comprises 65 branches spread across the country's 15 regions.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coris Bank SA, Emmanuel Sawadogo, stated that the bank is present in 12 countries and continues to proudly represent Burkina Faso in the African financial sphere. According to him, this expansion is not only an institutional success. It also constitutes proof of the quality of the institutional and economic reforms undertaken by the Burkinabe authorities for the construction and consolidation of a dynamic private sector as well as the emergence of economic actors capable of establishing themselves in a competitive regional environment.
