Kndougou: The Kndougou Provincial Committee of the Red Cross has donated food and essential pharmaceutical products to the inmates of the Orodara Detention and Correction Center (MACO) to mark the belated celebration of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the theme “United in Unity” and took place from June 12 to 14, 2026, featuring activities aimed at promoting humanitarian values and the spirit of solidarity. These included sanitation operations at the Orodara Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA), a cross-country race, awareness sessions, and a community meal.

The donation to the MACO inmates comprised bags of rice, cooking oil, and essential pharmaceutical products. Paul Kabor, the director of Orodara prison, acknowledged the importance of the contribution and its impact on improving the living conditions of those incarcerated. He expressed gratitude to the Kndougou provincial committee of the Red Cross and encouraged other organizations to support similar initiatives.

Yacouba Coulibaly, the provincial president of the Red Cross in Kndougou, highlighted the organization’s dedication to supporting vulnerable populations. He stressed the importance of promoting humanity, volunteerism, and solidarity to strengthen social cohesion within communities. Coulibaly reiterated that aiding vulnerable individuals is central to the Red Cross’s mission.
