Regional Officials Convene to Discuss New Development Strategy in Ouahigouya


Ouahigouya: The Secretary General of the Yaadga region, Kouilga Albert Zongo, led the first ordinary session of the Regional Consultation Framework (CCR), with discussions centered on the national strategy for resilience and stabilization of territories, as observed by AIB.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was attended by the Director General of Territorial Development, Monique Yarga/Ou©draogo, and the Regional Director of Economy and Planning for Yaadga, Polycarpe Nar©. Participants from the provinces of Loroum, Passor©, Yatenga, and Zondoma were present to deliberate on strategies aimed at accelerating socio-economic progress in the Yaadga region.



The regional authority emphasized that this session offered a chance to evaluate past achievements and to outline new perspectives, focusing on the national strategy for resilience and stabilization of territories (SNRST). The Secretary General highlighted the significance of the document for local stakeholders, noting its potential to promote both stabilization and recovery efforts within the region.



Elie Tiemtor©, Director of Resilience and Support for Territorial Stabilization, explained that the strategy’s implementation would coordinate development efforts over the 2026-2030 period. The framework focuses on three core pillars: territorial reclamation, enhancing state presence, rebuilding recovery foundations, and promoting social cohesion through national reconciliation.



The session concluded with members of the CCR providing constructive feedback, resulting in the formulation of several recommendations aimed at improving the strategy’s effectiveness.
