Rehabilitation Works Begin on Key Road Linking Boromo to Lanfiera

Ouri:The communities of Boromo, Siby, Ouri, and Safan gathered in Ouri to participate in the launch of rehabilitation works on Regional Road No. 29, an important 81-kilometer route connecting Boromo to Lanfiera. The event was attended by local traditional, religious, and administrative leaders, alongside representatives from the Presidency of Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony included a speech by Hamidou Yaro, the village chief of Ouri, who welcomed attendees and sought blessings for the project's success. The rehabilitation is seen as crucial for economic development in the region, with the road's current condition adversely affecting travel and economic activities, particularly during the rainy season.

Yacouba Lougu, the initiative's coordinator, emphasized the project's goal to improve transportation and medical evacuation capabilities. Aligning with President Ibrahim Traor's vision of self-reliance, Lougu declared the community's determination to ensure the project's completion.

Soumeila Par, representing the Presidency of Faso, praised the initiative and expressed optimism about its success, promising support from the Presidential Initiative for Community Development. Sibiri Hermann Bamogo, speaking for the four communes' special delegations, highlighted the project as a response to local demands and a sign of community unity.

The official launch, marked by a symbolic use of shovels, sets the stage for ongoing works until the road's complete reprofiling, enhancing connectivity to Ddougou, the regional capital.
