Saaba Football Club Academy Concludes Successful Fourth Edition of R©veil Holiday Camp

Saaba: The Saaba Academy Football Club has successfully concluded the fourth edition of its R©veil football holiday camp, where 218 children were introduced to football techniques and skills.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the camp, which wrapped up on Sunday, aimed to provide a platform for social interaction and the promotion of social cohesion among the young participants. Oumar Koanda, president of the Saaba Academy Football Club, expressed gratitude that the camp concluded without any major incidents and highlighted the growth in participation from 130 children in 2024 to 218 this year.

Mr. Koanda spoke at the closing ceremony held at the Dayengwend© private high school grounds in Bargo, within the commune of Saaba. He emphasized the camp's role in fostering fraternity and peace among the future generations. The event, which started on June 10, focused on teaching young participants, aged 5 to 17, fundamental football techniques such as dribbling, ball handling, and heading.

Soumala Azemwo, president of the African Initiative, commended the efforts of the Saaba Academy, noting the importance of providing constructive activities for children during holidays. He expressed optimism about the academy's role in nurturing future football icons and pledged his association's support to further the academy's mission.

Eric Zour©, representing the Minister of Economy, emphasized the alignment of such activities with the government's policy of promoting sport among the youth. He noted that engaging in sports during holidays contributes to the children's personal development and well-being.

The ceremony concluded with each child receiving a set of gifts in recognition of their participation in the camp.
