Dori: Regional stakeholders are holding a review and funding session in Dori for the 2026 action plans of health facilities. The governor of the Sahel region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, presided on Monday in Dori over the technical review and financing session of the 2026 action plans of the Liptako Regional Health Directorate, the health districts of Gorom-Gorom, Dori, Djibo, and Sebba, as well as the Dori Regional Hospital Center (CHR).

According to Burkina Information Agency, this meeting is part of the annual health sector planning process. It aims to analyze, validate, and fund the 2026 annual action plans and work plans of the health facilities in the Liptako and Soum regions. The objective is to provide these structures with the resources essential for the effective implementation of actions based on demonstrable, measurable, and sustainable results, for the benefit of the populations.

Participants will review the level of achievement of performance indicators while exchanging information on the achievements recorded and the difficulties encountered in the field. This evaluation is an important lever for improving the effectiveness of health interventions and correcting identified shortcomings.

The work will also focus on verifying the compliance of the 2026 action plans with the development guide and national planning guidelines. The aim will be to ensure the consistency of the choices made by the various health structures with national health objectives, in a context marked by persistent security and humanitarian challenges.

The meeting will also serve as a forum for information sharing and discussions on the Ministry of Health's current priorities and available resources. This information will enable field workers to improve the quality of their planning and finalize their 2026 action plans with greater relevance.

Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo praised the constant commitment of the actors in the health system as well as the valuable support of technical and financial partners. Expressing the hope that the participants' contributions would give the session significant scope, the governor invited all stakeholders to a rigorous and concerted implementation of the validated plans, in order to sustainably strengthen the provision of care and the resilience of the health system in the Sahel region.
