Sandbondtenga: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Barsalogho 1 concluded the activities of the Primary School Sports and Cultural Organization (OSCEP) for the 2026 season on Saturday with a grand football final which saw Sambissi A school emerge victorious over Centre school of Barsalogho with a score of 4-2 on penalties.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after a 0-0 draw at the end of regulation time, Sambissi A school won on penalties 4 to 2, thus achieving revenge against the Barsalogho Centre team, against whom they had lost during the group stage.
Sambissi A school emerged victorious, taking home the trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and 40,000 CFA francs. Centre de Barsalogho school, the runner-up, received a ball, a set of jerseys, and 30,000 CFA francs.
Jean-Marie Ouedraogo, head of the CEB and promoter of OSCEP, was pleased with the smooth running of the activities in an atmosphere of fraternity and fair play. Co-sponsors Rasmane Bamogo and El Hadji Sadou Bikienga from Nagreongo, as well as Barkibila Sawadogo, provincial director of preschool, primary and non-formal education (DPEPPNF) of Sandbondtenga and chairman of the ceremony, welcomed this initiative which contributes to the complete education of children.
For the chairman of the ceremony, holding this event in a difficult security context is proof of resilience. “My wish is that the situation stabilizes further so that we can now go as far as Pensa and beyond,” he said.
Launched on February 25th with 14 teams competing, the competition lived up to all expectations in an atmosphere of general satisfaction. The final brought together local administrative authorities, students, and residents of the municipality.
