Sanaba: The municipality of Sanaba has officially launched the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), marking the beginning of the 3rd edition of this important civic initiative. The event commenced at the 'B' school with the Secretary General, Moumouni Mande, delivering a message from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, during the ceremonial raising of the national colors.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the theme for this year's event is "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let's cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption," with the slogan, "My plate, my pride." The activities are scheduled to run from March 26 to April 9, 2026, and aim to promote national pride and cultural values. Participants, including students, sang the national anthem in Dioula, reinforcing the spirit of national unity.
After the flag-raising ceremony, the director of Konate Modeste school read a speech from Captain Ibrahim Traore, focusing on the importance of promoting local consumption. This was followed by CCEB Konate Jean outlining the event's schedule and encouraging participants to heed the Head of State's call for increased consumption of local products in educational establishments and during collective activities.
Moumouni Mande, the town's secretary general, expressed optimism that the initiative would inspire every administration, school, and household to regularly incorporate typical Burkinab¨ dishes into their meals. He emphasized the need for local consumption to become a standard practice in school canteens and dinner tables across the nation.
