Sandbondtenga: 45 Motorcycles and 9 Power Tillers Handed Over to Support Security and Agricultural Production

Sandbondtenga: The Special Delegation of Koulse handed over, this Monday in Kaya, 45 motorcycles to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and 9 motorized cultivators to training and production structures, for a total cost of more than 48 million FCFA, financed from the 2025 budget.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the motorcycles are intended for the Gendarmerie, the National Armed Forces, the National Police, and the Water and Forestry Department. The power tillers are going to the Kaya Prison, the Boussouma Technical and Vocational High School, and the Rural Development Centers of Bonam and Kongoussi.

The president of the Special Delegation of Koulse, Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, indicated that this allocation reflects the desire of his institution to contribute to both territorial sovereignty and food sovereignty. He emphasized that the choice to equip agricultural training centers and the prison aims to make agricultural learning a concrete practice and not just theoretical, while highlighting the objective of socio-professional reintegration of young people.

For the regional director of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources of Koulse, Rayimsom Serges Igor Birba, this support is part of the dynamic of phase 2 of the agricultural offensive which will soon be launched. He noted that this equipment will strengthen mechanization, stimulate productivity and open up agricultural entrepreneurship opportunities for learners.

On the side of the FDS, Commander Blaise Soubeiga, commander of the 10th Command, Support and Supply Regiment (RCAS), welcomed on behalf of the beneficiary bodies this support which he considers strategic for intensifying patrols and strengthening intervention capabilities on the ground in the context of the reconquest of the national territory.
