Sandbondtenga: In a vibrant display of academic achievement and community support, the Kaya 1 Basic Education District (CEB) hosted an Excellence Day ceremony on Saturday, awarding bicycles and school supplies to the top-performing students in the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam. The event also honored outstanding teachers, principals, and educational supervisors with certificates of recognition and copies of the Manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, accolades were specifically given to the two highest-achieving students in the CEP from the CEB, which included one girl and one boy, as well as the two best-performing internally displaced students, also one girl and one boy. Additionally, the top student living with a disability in the CEP was recognized with a bicycle and school supplies.

Isidore Diand©, the head of the CEB of Kaya 1, presented the report for the 2025-2026 school year, revealing an impressive success rate of 98.24% in the Primary School Certificate. Diand© acknowledged the invaluable support from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), which facilitated the reopening of approximately twenty schools.

During the ceremony, Solange Kima/Minoungou, president of the Kaya Special Municipal Delegation, extended her congratulations to the awardees and encouraged parents to persist in their efforts to support their children's education. She emphasized that "supporting the school is a direct investment in development."

The event was attended by administrative, military, and traditional authorities, alongside students and their parents, and featured artistic performances by students from various schools within the municipality.
