Riyadh October 19, 2023The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is organizing the International Labor Market Conference (GLMC), from December 13 to 14 in Riyadh, with the participation of a wide range of experts and specialists in internationally renowned, a number of ministers and government officials from different countries around the world and heads of international and professional organizations.
The Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmad bin Sulaiman AlRajhi affirmed that this conference reflects the interest shown by the wise command in the development of the Saudi labor market, strengthening its attractiveness and competitiveness at the level through this conference which provides a unique platform to exchange knowledge and present the experiences and innovative practices of a wide range of internationally renowned specialists in this field, indicating that the Kingdom wants the Saudi labor market to transform into a model to follow at the international level in the application of global best practices.
Minister AlRajhi said the conference is the first of its kind which aims to provide a unified global platform bringing together all parties, including governments, institutions, experts, academics and interested parties in this field, to present the visions and unify efforts to develop the labor market, where these experiences can be used to find creative solutions that help address shared global challenges.
He added that the work of the conference is based on eight main axes and are as follows: the most significant influences and trends in the global labor market, skills and productivity, modern ways of working and teleworking, in addition policies and legislation related to labor markets and the mode of its development, as well as the effects of technical development and artificial intelligence on the future of labor markets, and also countries' experiences in market restructuring of work, lessons learned, and equality and the working environment.
He stressed that the conference will contribute to developing a set of achievable visions to address challenges and develop common solutions on a global scale, and strengthen the capacities of the international community to respond to the needs of the labor market, where supply and labor demand intersect, affirming that achieving the ambitious goals of this conference requires broad participation of labor market experts and specialists, as well as those interested in this sector across the world.
