SCE Chief Executive Engages in UN Meetings on Sea-Level Rise

New York:Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), took part in a significant High-level Plenary Meeting at the United Nations Headquarters, focusing on the threats posed by sea-level rise. This event was part of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Rumaihi stressed the importance of enhancing international collaboration and synchronizing efforts to tackle the challenges of sea-level rise. She called for the exchange of expertise to develop comprehensive and sustainable solutions, supporting global climate initiatives.

Al Rumaihi also underscored the need to bolster national and international strategies to improve adaptation and resilience, especially for island nations and low-lying coastal regions that are particularly susceptible to climate change impacts.

In addition to the plenary meeting, Al Rumaihi attended the High-level Event on Climate Action and the Just Transition. She also participated in a high-level interactive dialogue titled "Bahrain's Digital Transformation Journey National Human Development Report," organized by the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme in Bahrain.
