Nahouri: Sector 7 of the city of P clinched the final victory in the first edition of the Revolution Cup with a score of 1-0. The event, held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, was initiated by the Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosthene Dingara, and sponsored by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, Serge Poda.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Revolution Cup began on August 15, 2026, featuring 8 teams from the city of P. The promoter of the event, Minister Jacques Sosthene Dingara, emphasized that the Cup aimed to unite the youth through sport and social cohesion while promoting the message of the Revolution. Minister Dingara expressed gratitude for the support from the P population and the attendance of various dignitaries and friends who supported the initiative.
Minister Serge Poda, the sponsor of this inaugural edition, highlighted the significance of sport in advancing the values of the Revolution. He remarked, "Sport is based in particular on cohesion, living together, and defending values that are close to those advocated by the Revolution."
Ilassa Dianda, President of the special delegation of the commune of P, expressed his appreciation for the selection of their commune to host this premier edition. "We welcome this wonderful initiative of choosing the city of P for this first edition, as it strengthens the bonds between the people of our city. Through sport, the enthusiasm seen during the competitions demonstrates that our youth are committed to promoting the values of the RPP," he stated.
The final match witnessed sector 7 defeating sector 4 with a solitary goal scored by Bernard Djambou, in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The victorious team was awarded the trophy, a set of jerseys, three balls, and an envelope containing 300,000 FCFA. The runner-up received a set of jerseys, three balls, and an envelope with 250,000 CFA francs. All participating teams and players were also given cash and kind donations.
Bernard Djambou, the scorer of the decisive goal, was rewarded with a motorcycle by El hadj Issouf Compaor, Director General of the Nikiema Fati Company (SONIFA), for his performance in the final. The announcement was made that the Revolution Cup would return next year for its second edition.
