Sector No. 6 Triumphs in Inaugural “For the Revolution, I Commit” Football Tournament

Nahouri: Sector No. 6 emerged victorious in the inaugural edition of the "For the Revolution, I Commit" football tournament, defeating Sector No. 3 with a score of 1-0 at the P municipal stadium. The tournament was launched by Ilassa Dianda, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of P, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament, which was spearheaded by the Minister of Basic Education alongside Ilassa Dianda, aims to engage young people in the revolutionary movement while promoting social cohesion. The initiative seeks to utilize the power of sport as a medium to enhance civic and patriotic consciousness among the youth.

The competition features eight teams representing each sector of the commune of P, competing over two weeks in a spirit of fraternity and fairness. Each match will be preceded by information sessions aimed at disseminating the ideals of the Revolution, as emphasized by the PDS of P.

In the opening match, Sector No. 6 clinched victory over Sector No. 3 with a narrow 1-0 win. Ilassa Dianda lauded the tournament as a significant platform for youth engagement, fostering camaraderie, and mobilizing young people around the goals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP). He emphasized that the tournament would contribute to strengthening community life, social cohesion, and solidarity between neighborhoods in P.

Dianda encouraged the youth to actively participate in future patriotic initiatives. The grand final of this sporting and civic event is slated for Friday, August 28, 2026, at the P municipal stadium.
