Sissili/Local land charters: Members of the initiative committee trained on the process and development tools

The General Directorate of Land, Training and Organization of the Rural World (Dgfomr) in partnership with the town hall of Léo organized on Friday October 20, 2023 a training session on the process and tools of development of land charters for the benefit of members of the initiative committee on the process of developing municipal land charters.

According to the organizers, the objective of this training is to support the development of local land charters in the commune of Léo.

The members of the initiative committees are local actors who directly exploit the resources covered by the charters.

This capacity building workshop aims to equip them so that they can fully play their roles in the process of developing local land charters.

Participants in the workshop were entitled to explanations on the legal basis of local land charters (CFL), the stages and tools for developing CFLs and the implementation action plan.

They were also informed and made aware of their roles in the process. The various plenary presentations were given by Saydou Konaté and Nacanabo Madi from the general directorate of land, training and organization of the rural world.

Discussions, all the concerns of the participants were taken into account by the trainers. Municipal actors also discussed land transactions subject to charters through group work.

At the end of the work, a roadmap for the development of local land charters and implementation action plans was established.

The 1st vice-president of Léo's special delegation, Saydou Yago, expressed the special delegation's recognition of the food system resilience program in West Africa, component of Burkina Faso (PRSA, - BF), as well as the Dgfomr for financial and technical support.

He finally invited the participants in the workshop to be relays to their respective grassroots communities for the proper conduct of the activities of the process and tools for developing local land charters for the benefit of the commune of Léo.
