Sissili: In a bid to enhance academic outcomes in the Sissili province, Soungalo Traor©, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Sissili, convened a meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in L©o. This initiative is dedicated to rallying educational stakeholders towards the ambitious goal of achieving a 95% success rate in the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) examination for the 2026 session.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the consultation framework gathered teachers from the final year of primary school (CM2), school principals, and pedagogical supervisors from the L©o Basic Education District (CEB). The meeting aimed to harmonize teaching strategies and address potential obstacles in preparation for the 2026 primary school leaving certificate (CEP) exams.
Having previously visited Bi©ha, Boura, and Niabouri, the provincial delegation's current focus is the CEB of L©o. Soungalo Traor© emphasized that the initiative seeks to identify field challenges and enhance support through experience sharing. "We also provide sample exam questions each week to familiarize students with the real conditions of the tests," he stated.
Discussions highlighted the need for a shift in approach, notably through the integration of local values consistent with the government's vision. Recommendations included boosting students' intrinsic motivation and increasing parental involvement. Simon Somda, headmaster of L©o-Bukua 'A' school, stressed that success in the CEP exam requires a 'collective endeavor.' He suggested rotating teachers based on their skills to address complex concepts and accentuated the importance of remedial classes organized by school councils.
Somda also urged parents to reduce children's household chores to allow more time for revision, asserting that home-based monitoring is crucial for performance. Educational supervisors Boubou N©bi© and Domla Zalvet praised the meeting for enhancing understanding of lesson planning and exercise management, urging school principals to integrate fifth-grade teachers into broader educational activities.
While acknowledging challenges such as some students' irregular attendance, Marguerite Tagnan/Nana, a teacher at Sissili "B" school, appreciated the new guidelines and plans to increase homework and collaborate more closely with families to boost academic performance. Beyond teaching strategies, the discussions also addressed adherence to the school calendar and examination organization as per the relevant decree.
