Ouagadougou: The National Culture Week (SNC) has made a significant advancement toward financial independence with the recent validation of its fundraising strategy at the Monsignor Anselme Titianma Sanon Cultural Center. This workshop gathered essential stakeholders to develop a document aimed at strengthening the institution’s funding capacity and enhancing the preparation of future editions of the cultural biennial.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Soumala Mar©, the consultant responsible for drafting the document, stated that this strategy addresses a need stemming from the adoption of the SNC’s 2025-2029 Strategic Development Plan. Dr. Mar© emphasized the importance of mobilizing the necessary resources and means to operationalize this institutional development strategy, aiming for financial self-sufficiency and diversification of funding sources.
Dr. Mar© further explained that the document is founded on a comprehensive analysis of the SNC’s current resource mobilization system. This diagnosis identified existing shortcomings, challenges in partnership management, and opportunities for sustainable financial improvement. The strategy is structured around two main axes: enhancing the governance and operational capabilities of the organization, and increasing resource mobilization through own revenue, partner contributions, and innovative financing mechanisms.
Christiane Carole Sanon/Coulibaly, the Director General of the SNC, highlighted that the validation of this document marks a crucial milestone for the institution. She noted that the resource mobilization strategy would enable better preparation for future SNC editions by providing a clear fundraising direction and serving as a foundation for discussions with partners.
Sanon/Coulibaly also expressed satisfaction with the quality of discussions during the validation process, commending the consultant’s work and stressing that participants’ feedback would aid in further refining the document. “The various recommendations will be considered to achieve a final consolidated version within the planned timeframe,” she added.
Through this initiative, the SNC aims to equip itself with modern management and financing tools to strengthen its mission of promoting and enhancing Burkinabe culture.
